Things To Consider When You Move Into A New Home

Here are few things that we sometimes forget or don't always consider when we move into a new home. Just a brief checklist of things to do when you get the keys to your home! 

1. Change the locks. It may seem like a ridiculous or frivolous expense, but it can give you a peace of mind to change the locks to your doors as well as change the codes to security system and garage door (and entry doors if applicable). 

2. Pest Control. May not be needed right away, but research or ask me, who I prefer to have for a just in case type of situation.

3. Lawn Care. Moving is a BIG task and the last thin you may want to worry about it mowing the lawn or taking care of it when you are unpacking and getting your home together! 

4. Snow Removal/Plow Truck. Always good, just like Pest Control to be prepared ahead of time! 

5. Find your Circuit Breaker and Water Main. Don't wait until an emergency to go hunting these things down. 

6. Change your address on the pertinent items (drivers license, insurance, bank and other priority items!)

Bonus... introduce yourself to your neighbors and get to know who is living around you! Well if you are into that kind of thing!
